How to Get Cat Urine Odor Out of Your Floors
If you are a cat owner than you probably know how bad the smell of cat urine can actually be.
All you need is a disposable cloth and some bleach. Make sure that no one else including the at is in the room when you are cleaning the floor. Obviously you only want to use the bleach if you are cleaning a linoleums or hardwood floor, never on carpeted areas. You don't want to just dump a ton of bleach on the spot. What you first want to do is place some bleach into a spray bottle. About half the bottle is a good amount. This way you will always have enough handy just in case your cat decides to use your floor as a litter box once again. Do not place any water in the bottle with the bleach. It is best to use one hundred percent bleach in order to get the odor to go away.
Then you can spray a very small amount of bleach on the spot where the ursine was located. If the stain has been there for a while you may need to let the bleach sit on the stained area for a few minutes. Use the cloth that you have to gently rub the bleach around the spot for about one minute. Then use another cloth and soak with water. Then wipe down the area with the watered down cloth. Allow it to dry and you are all done. One reason why the bleach works so well on the floor is because it not only gets rid of the horrible smell immediately but it also disinfects the area. Another benefit is that the odor left behind from the bleach will deter your cat from revisiting that spot again. Just make sure that after you have cleaned and rinsed the area you allow it to fully dry before letting one back into the room.
Of course you can always purchase some of the store bought urine cleaners, but I have found that many of them smell just as bad as the urine smell. The others just don't really seem to work well and they do not say anywhere on the label that they disinfect the urine stained area. These are just a few ideas and suggestions that may help you to get rid of those horrible cat urine stains and smells.
