Mrs. Meyer's Earth-Friendly Cleaning Products Make Housework a Little Less Painful
Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day cleaning products offer a safe, Earth-friendly alternative to the harsh chemicals of most commercial cleaning supplies. The fresh scents and effective cleaning abilities make household chores more pleasant.
The first thing I noticed about the Mrs. Meyer's products was the fantastic fragrances available. The company uses top quality essential oils which contribute to the aromatherapeutic properties of scent. All of their numerous products are available in three different fragrances; lavender (soothing), lemon verbena (energizing), and geranium (refreshing). My personal favorite is the lavender scent. Though the label lists only lavender and orange essential oils, it smells to my nose like a wonderfully fresh and calming blend of lavender, apples, and chamomile. The lemon verbena and geranium scents are wonderful as well, and are very natural and pleasing. For a limited time, the company is also offering a honeysuckle scent as part of their Spring Cleaning Kit.
One of the best Mrs. Meyer's products is their All Purpose Cleaner. This cleaner is a fantastic deal. For $7.99, you get 32 ounces of concentrated cleanser, which seems to last forever. In an empty spray bottle, I like to mix about 2 tablespoons (I use a little more than necessary because I like the scent to be more powerful) of the All Purpose Cleaner with 1 pint of water. This works great on countertops, sinks, tables, the refrigerator, and all other non-porous surfaces. For kitchen and bathroom floors, the All Purpose Cleaner mixed with warm water is fantastic. I almost like mopping now. Almost. The floors get so shiny and clean with this product, and the rooms smell great for hours.
The other stand-out products are the Laundry Detergent and the Dryer Sheets. The detergent is biodegradable and leaves clothes clean and lightly scented. Like the All Purpose Cleaner, the Laundry Detergent ($11.99 for 64 ounces) is highly concentrated and seems to last for a long time. The detergent is very gentle. I have sensitive skin, and have never had any reactions to this product. Also, I wear a lot of dark and black clothes, and have never had any of that white residue that seems to appear after using some other detergents. The Dryer Sheets are a bit of a splurge at $7.99, but give additional softening to the clothes and add a little more of the fresh fragrance.
I don't think I'll ever be the clean freak that I (and my loved ones) wish I were, but with the appealing fresh scents and powerful cleaning abilities, Mrs. Meyer's products have helped me to keep my apartment in presentable shape, which is a huge improvement for me. The environmentally-friendly, cruelty-free ingredients help to keep my conscience clear too, which, in the end, is just as important to me as is a clean fridge.
