Prom Trends for Spring 2020
2020 prom trends run to the high times of Hollywood, such as the 1960s, rather than its current slump as evidenced by recent red carpet blunders, color combination bloopers, and wardrobe malfunctions.
The year 2020 is no exception and here is some helpful information for 2020 prom-goers who want to arrive in style.
Dress Style
2020 may be the Chinese Year of the Rat, but for young ladies it is a season inspired by Hollywood glamour and glitz. Colors are vibrant, detail work intricate, and the material of choice is smooth satin. Fortunately the prom trends run to the high times of Hollywood, such as the 1960s, rather than its current slump as evidenced by recent red carpet blunders, color combination bloopers, and wardrobe malfunctions. Think La Femme Fashions (which might be compared to the Lauren Bacall personality of dresses), especially their daring red gown design or the stunning beige and copper masterpiece or Mori Lee for the Jackie Kennedy-esque line of style.
Both will populate the ballrooms or high school gyms this year, and it is up to the young lady in question to decide which kind of attire is more reflective of her personality, style and, let's face it, body type.
Shoes
Perhaps not surprisingly, shoes are complementing the outfit rather than stealing its alluring show. Heels are moderate to high and moving away from the clunky clogs of yesteryear in favor of thin and curvy (although not stiletto). Your best bet is muted silver with small, sparingly used rhinestone accents. In the alternative, if you find a designer dress of your liking that is about knee length or slightly shorter, you may decide to complement it with a pair of shoes in exactly the same shade and finish as the dress.
Flowers
2020 is an interesting year when it comes to the choice of flowers. If you choose the La Femme Fashions line of evening wear (or something similar) you will find that current prom trends dictate that flowers will cramp your style more than they will actually augment it and it is highly suggested that you stay away from them altogether. Short haired beauties need not despair, rather than paying a lot for hair extensions that will have you panic, remember that 2020 calls for chic, and thus a playful styling of your hair is most certainly in keeping with the fashion. No matter what you choose, strict cuts or hairstyles are out of the running for the 2020 prom trends.
If you pull back your hair and secure it with a barrette, remember that this little piece should match your ensemble. If your shoes have a modest sprinkling of rhinestones, carry that theme to your hair as well. Yet go easy and do not turn yourself into a rival for the disco ball!
