In radiant floor heating, a network of tubes is installed beneath the floor and heated water is pumped through the tubes. There are several different ways to heat the liquid, including using the existing water heater, utilizing a dedicated heat source, or employing solar heat.
After the heated water is forced through the tubes, the heat then radiates into the home and continues to spread upward. This mimics the action of heat in nature, in which the sun heats the ground, which then slowly releases it over a matter of hours.
