Vacuum Review of the Dyson DC 14 Full Kit
The Dyson DC 14 Full Kit is a highly effective vacuum cleanerfor all your vacuuming needs. It never loses suction and always gives a satisfying cleaning throughout the house. A little pricier than most store-bought brands of vacuums, but well worth it.
Holding true to its claim, this bag less vacuum cleaner honestly never loses suction. In the past, I've owned other brands of vacuums whose sucking power degenerated over time. The Dyson DC 14 is different. I've vacuumed over and over and over again and the quality of the suction remains the same as the first day that I've used it. This Dyson DC 14 is as good as the Energizer bunny-it keeps going and going and going. The suction is so great that I've had to beware of hanging drapes or tablecloths that were close to the floor. One quick suck of the vacuum and the material would come right on off.
Allergy sufferers may note that this machine is endorsed by the British Allergy Foundation for truly removing allergens (and not re-releasing them into the air). The lifetime filter's special design prevents clogs which prevents the dust particles from escaping. I like to know that my hard work of traveling across the room with my Dyson did not cause more harm than good by containing everything that I disturbed in the canister. My husband, who suffers from severe allergies, also appreciates the Dyson's superior filtering system.
I especially feel satisfied when I look at the see-through canister and understand that the load of guck in there used to be in the environment that I breathed. My family is accustomed to my show and tell period following my vacuuming rituals where I walk around with the canister and say, "See what we've been breathing?"
After a few looks of disgust at the sight of the canister's contents, I'm usually satisfied and begin to walk over to the garbage can. With a quick pull of the lever, all that yucky guck goes to bye-bye land and I'm ready for another day. This part of the vacuuming experience never gets boring and I am always amazed.
The Dyson's bag less feature has ended my frustrating trips to stores that I used to take when I used inferior brands of vacuums. It always seemed my bagged vacuum was out of date, or the model wasn't so popular, making my search for the right bag a whole day's excursion. Well-with the Dyson, vacuum bag excursions are non-existent.
In addition to the great suction and the ingenious canister, the Dyson still has more interesting features. The adjustable height which ranges from bare floors to high carpets makes it convenient for every floor-cleaning need. I even enjoy the 35.4 foot power cord which lets me reach far across the room without interruption.
The telescope-style reach wand is also a great and easy feature. Unlike regular vacuums of the past, this wand is attached to the main unit. All I do is press the button and pull the wand into place. The wand with tube reaches as far as 17 feet. It is wonderful for reaching high places.
There are also several attachments on specially molded areas on the Dyson. I never have to search my closets for the parts because they're secured onto the main unit. The attachment I use the most is the bare floor tool. It is a bristled head which allows me to vacuum bare floors as well as anything that is prone to scratching by hard objects. I use this to vacuum pictures, figurines, and counter surfaces which accumulate dust over time. Another neat attachment is the mini turbine head. This is a flattened head which is great for furniture and other material-covered objects. I don't have pets, but the Dyson box says that this is great to remove pet hair.
My DC 14 is gray with white and gold-yellow accents making an otherwise boring household item into something pretty cool to have around. It weighs about 18.5 pounds and it comes with a limited 2-year manufacturer's warranty. It runs on 12 amps. Mine cost $469.
Overall, this is a great product that has improved life for me and my family. I knew we were taking a chance when spending the money for this product, but the benefits have far more than paid for itself.
